KA2 DEVOTE PROJECT
DEVOTE is a project that aims to strengthen the integration of students with a migrant background in schools and improve their educational achievement by providing training, coaching, and guidance to teachers, equipping school leaders and educators with the competences and innovative tools needed to support secondary school students, and by strengthening cooperation between schools, families, and other external stakeholders through the intellectual outputs described below.
Intellectual outputs

IO1 – Educational content: pedagogical content to help teachers integrate students with a migrant background in the classroom.

IO2 – Massive Open Online Course: an open online course for lower and upper secondary school teachers.

IO3 – Educators’ community: a community of teachers to share good practices and experiences.
Objectives
-
Develop teachers’ professional skills in managing migrant and refugee students and classroom diversity.

Support schools in facilitating the inclusion and success of newly arrived migrant and refugee students, thus contributing to the fight against early school leaving.

Support and improve the performance of newly arrived migrant and refugee students in secondary schools.

Strengthen cooperation among all members of the school community (school leaders, teachers and non-teaching staff, students, parents/families).

Expand and enhance secondary teachers’ capacities and skills in teaching literacy and mathematics to students with a migrant background.

Provide a diagnostic tool for the effective assessment of language, mathematics, and digital competences, as well as the gaps and needs of students with a migrant background.

Promote innovative practices, both digital and non-digital, in teaching literacy, mathematics, and digital skills to secondary school students with a migrant background.
Target groups
-
Teachers and educators: 78 teachers will be trained to implement strategies to strengthen the school integration of students from a migrant background in European schools, thereby improving their teaching competences. They will act as multipliers with students and their parents. Strategies also include 6 multiplier events in 6 different countries, involving 300 teachers and educators.

Secondary school students with a migrant background: direct beneficiaries of the methodologies developed; 100 students with a migrant background will be involved.

Parents with a migrant background: they will improve their skills in the national language.

School leaders and other stakeholders: through these methods, the project aims to strengthen cooperation between schools, families, and other external stakeholders, thereby improving the school system in Europe.
